Elysiumfest. As Elysium performs, so shall it teach.
We are pleased to offer the first annual Elysiumfest Workshop for students June 12-14, 2008 at North Atlanta High School. This unique program will take choral and orchestral students and put them together for the purposes of opening a realm of chamber music discovery between them which they may or may not have considered. This inaugural year will allow us to perform Franz Schubert's Mass in G and Gustav Holst’s St. Paul Suite. The repertoire is great, and the venue is equally great — it just needs you! Audience members can plan to attend the free concert of Elysiumfests's student collaboration at North Atlanta High School Theatre Saturday evening June 14, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. That way students get to demonstrate in a tangible way what they have learned.
Future plans for Elysiumfest involve a concert of small ensembles performing chamber music involving voice. Plans for future classes include music theory, history, and ear training. This first year our schedule is small yet intense.
