Welcome to Paradise.
Webster’s defines paradise as “a place or state of ideal beauty, loveliness or rapture.” There’s an ancient word for it: Elysium. All fitting words to describe chamber music. Soothing strings. Melodic voices. The experience can indeed be heavenly.
Founded in 2005 by conductors P. David Hancock and Alan Raines, the Elysium Chamber Orchestra and Chorus seeks to fuse choral and instrumental chamber music, making it the first such performing and recording group in Atlanta and the Southeast. Welcome to Paradise. Welcome to Elysium.
We’ve taken it to heart. You will, too.
Sharing the beauty of chamber music is more than our mission, it’s our passion. We invite you to experience this beauty, this passion, through Elysium performances, education, recordings and community involvement. Major concerts will include fall and spring performances. Workshops and symposiums will be held during the summer for students and aspiring professionals.
Elysiumfest is our student workshop.
This year Elysiumfest happens June 12-14, 2008 at North Atlanta High School. Learn more about Elysiumfest.
